Step One: Character Concept
Get your character concept approved by Changeling Staff. We use 20th ed Changeling.
Enter Cgen in the OOC Nexus.
Start setting up the Charbit by typing:
@lock me=me @elock me=me @ulock me=me
Initialize the character by typing:
+init +help cgen +qstart/list +qstart/be changeling/
This starts your changeling sheet now. Check your +sheet
and fill out the top of your +sheet by using the titles of the columns as the traits terms in +selfstat TRAIT=VALUE
You do not need to set a Nature or Demeanor, as Changelings have Legacies for that. You can remove them
+selfstat nature= +selfstat demeanor=
Possible Trait Values

You can either have a Kith or a Nunnehi trait, not both, and set those to one of the following:

Step Two: Fill in your Attributes
Prioritize the three Attribute categories: Physical, Social, Mental (7/5/3)

Step 4: Set the base stats
These commands are the same for all changelings in this step, so just copy:

Step 5: Arts, Realms & Backgrounds
You may choose 3 points in Arts. Ex. +selfstat primal=1

- Ex. Chimera, Chimerical Companion, Contacts, Allies, Dreamers, Holdings (Restricted), Mentor, Remembrance, Resources, Retinue, Title (3 and above Restricted), Treasure *(with approval).
(Note: Chimerical Companions require Rede Notes, Retainers etc. +note required for statting)
Step 6: Merits and Flaws
You may choose up to 7 points in Flaws.
You may only buy up to 10 points in Merits in Cgen.
Use the Name of the Merit/Flaw as the TRAIT
and its Freebie Value as VALUE
So for example +selfstat granite skin=2

- Once approved, a player may potentially buy other Merits with permission using Xp.
Step 7: Notes
Write your +notes on anything you wish Staff to know. A background is not required. If you have specialty backgrounds, merits or flaws that require an explanation please write a +note.
+note/private me/phobia=Phobia: Grandpa Joe Bucket is afraid of bubbles. He has PTSD from almost getting grinded up into hamburger from visiting Willy Wonka's factory. That fan in the ceiling was an end Boss!
It's important to write a note on where your resources $$$ comes from. Also Write a note on any allies, contacts, etc. Ex.:
+note/private me/resources=Resources: I make my worldly money at McDonalds as a Cashier.
Step 8. Last steps
Write a character description. You might refer to +help +desc
for variant code and guidance, but in general, the basic code is enough:
@desc me=This Sluagh looks like a goth. etc.
Step 9. Turn in the Application!
Type +approveme
Staff will now begin to review and help you get your character going for IC play. All done! Woo!
