Biography
Sarah Stinton was born in 1839 in San Antonio, Texas, during a time of significant change and turmoil in the region. Her early life was marked by hardship. Her father, Robert Stinton, died fighting in the Mexican-American War, leaving Sarah and her mother, Elizabeth Walter, to fend for themselves. Elizabeth struggled to make ends meet, taking on various jobs including as a saloon waitress and seamstress, but eventually succumbed to a laudanum addiction. In 1849, when Sarah was just 10 years old, Elizabeth died of an overdose.
Sarah was taken in by James Doherty, the owner of The Limestone Saloon. He provided her with a place to stay and work, initially as a barmaid. Over the years, she became an integral part of the saloon, but her circumstances took a darker turn in her teenage years when she was coerced into working in the brothel.
At age 20, Sarah’s life took a dramatic turn when she was embraced by Ulrich Schneider, a Malkavian vampire drawn to her unstable yet charismatic nature. Over the following decades, she learned to navigate her new existence, assisting her sire in gaining influence over an existing mining operation that was being established by others. She eventually took on managing his affairs when he departed for California in 1866.
The young Neonate prospered during the late 1860s and throughout the 1870's. The arrival of the railroad and telephone services in the late 1870's brought in new business opportunities. With her sire's San Antonio assets and investments, Sarah was able to re-invest heavily and profit for herself. Her sire, Ulrich Schneider, was not as pleased with his childe's success after his return in 1880, leading to a confrontation after which Ulrich departed, never to be seen again.
Despite her internal struggles, Sarah demonstrated resilience, taking control of her sire's mining operation for herself and further building upon her financial independence. She relocated to Dallas in 1942, investing in oil and later diversifying her assets into stocks and bonds. By 1950, she had recruited Benjamin Porter as a trusted aide to manage her growing interests. Over the years, Sarah served as Whip for Clan Malkavian in Dallas and became known for her sharp intellect and resourcefulness.
In 1994, seeking new opportunities, Sarah moved to Houston to establish herself within a rebuilding Camarilla. Her experiences have shaped her into a complex figure, defined by her tragic past, enduring strength, and the lingering shadows of her sire’s influence.
