Nameless Umbral Dancer
He wept when they fell,
He laughed when they rose,
A teacher of riddles
Where no spirit goes.

Moon Moon lay broken,
Sokhta gave chase,
He danced on the grave
And stole back her face.

He called down the Mother,
No Elder, no prayer,
And brought forth Meridian
From death and despair.

The land bloomed behind him,
Roots singing with grace,
Life waking in places
Once lost to the Waste.

Nameless they made him,
Cast out from the fold,
But the Umbral Dancer
Still runs swift and bold.

He weeps for the fallen,
He laughs for the free,
And teaches the living
What spirits still see.

With each lesson whispered,
With each trick revealed,
The Laughing God watches,
And old wounds are healed.
