Spending XP

  • Players are welcome to self spend on common abilities and attributes from 1 to 3 through the self spend system. (+help +xpspend)
  • 4 & 5's please use +help +xpreq - These levels represent some of the most capable people in the world, and we as staff, like to know when one of the characters in our sphere have entered that echelon, and the story behind it.
  • Gifts: One paragraph on a quick story of how you did it. What happened? What spirit gave you the gift? How did you convince the spirit? Is extremely useful so staff can write you a little something back and we can create a behind the scenes story that you can take into your RP.
    • Gifts have a wait time of 1 week per level.
      • This wait time may be waived if your justification is inspiring enough that an ST wants to run your scene before the end of it's wait time. Your gift would be immediately available after the ST run scene.
  • Rites: may be purchased with XP or with Time.
    • XP: 3x per level
    • Time: 1 week per level

Kinfolk

Applying

Kinfolk occupy an important position in the Gaian sphere. Not only are they able to interact with humans in a way many shifters can not, they often are an important part of the social structure of the People. While kinfolk can be in all walks of life, we do ask that you have in mind how your kinfolk contributes to the well being of the nation when you create them.

Cross Splat

At this time we are not accepting Cross Splat kinfolk.

Packs

Can kinfolk be considered part of a pack? There is a path to packing for kinfolk that is being developed for the game.

Pure Breed

If you have PB (Pure Breed) 3+, and you leave a place after using blood, feathers, hair etc, it can be identified with Scent of True Form as belonging to a kin.

Renown

Can kin earn renown? Yes, and we are working on ways to make renown on kinfolk at least a little meaningful.

Custom Mechanics

Plan Equipment (In Pilot this write up is not complete)

Roll: Wits + Leadership (or another relevant Ability based on the plan, such as Wits + Survival for wilderness operations or Intelligence + Technology for a digital heist).

Difficulty: 6 (at Storyteller discretion) + the desired bonus to actions during the plan, capped at +3. Players may spend Willpower for automatic successes.

Effect: Each success grants a +1 bonus die to all participants for rolls directly related to executing the plan (such as Stealth, Investigation, Combat, or Social rolls). This bonus lasts until the plan either succeeds or fails and does not apply to any actions that are not encompassed by the plan. The maximum bonus granted by a plan is +3 dice.

Teamwork: Other characters may contribute to planning by making their own rolls (Wits + relevant Ability) at the same difficulty. Their total successes are added to the team leader’s dice pool before the leader rolls.

Botch: The plan fails entirely. Additionally, the Storyteller may introduce complications such as betrayal, misinformation, or the enemy being forewarned.

Note: Plans do not apply to combat roles. However stunting does.

Stunting

Stunting is an optional rule that is in play at the scene ST's discretion.

What is STUNTING?

If you do a really cool pose (that entertains the ST - bonus if it entertains the rest of the peeps), you can get a +1-+3 die bonus on your action. This is particularly useful in those pesky supernatural power activation rolls (arete, gnosis, etc).

What isn't stunting - Just doing a regular pose.

What -is- stunt-worthy? Something that stimulates the imagination into imagining something worthy of an action/fantasy/horror movie. Go at it!
