Brief Overview

For years, Houston was a battleground between un-Presented Neonates, gangs of Anarchs and marauding Sabbat packs. That was until the late 1970’s when Houston saw a population boom thank to the Arab Oil Exchange embargo. It was then that the Ivory Tower began to take interest in claiming it’s dominance over the night in Houston.

The Soon-to-be Ventrue Justicar charged his childe, Xavier Santos, to organize the Kindred of Houston and bring them to order.

In order to gain some influence, Xavier Embraced Howard Hughes, a man that was, at one time, the richest person in the world and a resident of Texas. After using Howard’s connections to gain influence, Xavier began to rule over the nights in Houston. He then established himself as Prince of the Bayou City and formed the City’s Primogen council, the first in decades.

After several attempts, Prince Xavier brokered a shaky agreement with the local Anarchs. The rules stating that they will be left to their own as long as they enforce the Masquerade and understand that ALL Kindred who wish to reside within Houston Present themselves to the Prince, rules that are enforced without question with the aid of the Prince’s closest confidante, Thomas Whitmoore of Clan Gangrel and Sheriff to the Prince.

In 1981, Hughes bonded the city's- first female mayor(who held her office for 10 years), Kathryn J. Whitmire. Through her, they began to take notice in the industrialization of Houston.

During the year of 1986, when Houston began to experience recession that lasted for several years due to oil prices falling, was the first of the Sabbat incursions. On October 3, several Packs descended on Pasadena, a city adjactent to Houston, causing the Final Death for several Kindred among the Camarilla and the Anarchs. In a combined effort, the Primogen council used their combined power and influence to cover it up by explaining the several deaths and injuries were due to a Phillips 66 plant exploding in order to protect the Masquerade. During the skirmish, the Camarilla, with the help of the Anarchs, managed to purge the area of the Sword of Caine, hopefully sending a message to not return.

1987 was not much better for the Bayou City as it witnessed the closure of eleven banks. Though, thanks to the Toreador, it also saw the opening of several culture centers. The Praxis soon recovered and began to prosper.

The Bayou City Massacre

During the Annual Toreador Masquerade Ball, held at Houston’s iconic Art Museum. The Sabbat attacked, this time directly at the Kindred of Houston. Several organized packs attacked the Kindred gathered at the Ball. The siege carried on for almost four nights. On the fourth night, the fighting came to sudden stop just before sunrise! The following evening was met with silence! Those very few who managed to avoid the fray found nothing but piles of ash. The city had been purged of vampires and not a single clue or explanation as to what happened. What happened that morning? Did anyone survive? To those that survived, are they next? What will happen now?
